How To Feel Pretty When It's One Of Those Days
Those days. We all know what it means, no need for explanations, it's just a day when we don't feel motivated to do anything, either because of our lazy behaviour for the day, or just because we don't feel like it or simply feel incredibly blue, so we just want to stay in our bed, in warmth and fuzzy blankets for the rest of the day and the last thing that we want is get ready to leave but, unfortunately, we must get out of the house.
I have "one of those days" about 6 days out of 7, so everyday I find myself struggling to leave my bed, but I obviously have no choice so I end up making up several plans and motivations in my head.
So, how to deal when it's one of those days?
1. First, let's start from the very first minute of the day: as you wake up, do not focus on the "I don't even feel like moving, I don't want to go", but on the "It's going to be done soon and I will go through it", it always helps me to motivate myself to get up and be done with what I have to do: the sooner I get up, the sooner it will be done. Key word: Motivation.
2. I feel like there are two types of people:
- People like me, who enjoy spending time on their appearance especially when they can't find any good side in the day, in fact when I don't feel like doing anything, I personally find motivation in my make up: I really enjoy doing my make up, so I try to focus on that in the morning, and maybe wear a bit more than what I would usually do. A bit more highlighter, lipstick, maybe a thicker eye pencil, anything that makes me enjoy what I'm doing and covers my tired eyes, so that during the day I can just randomly think about what a nice make up I am wearing.
- People who just don't want to have anything to do with make up. In that case, I'd say that self care is the main step: be sure to always have your eyebrows look polished, your skin moisturised and your hair clean and brushed. These are the main steps to look pretty without even trying, and these are all things that you can do the night before.
3. Choose an outfit that is comfortable, because we don't want to feel stiff, especially today, and, of course, makes you feel pretty and powerful: we all have that pair of jeans that fits us just perfectly, or that cute little sweater which feels just like a blanket. Do not hesitate, and put it on. One tip I'd suggest, is to prepare everything the evening before, I always do that and it helps me save so much time and effort in the morning. Who doesn't feel good and pretty when also feels confident?
4. When it comes to hair, I'm personally always lazy, so you can just imagine my hairstyles during those days. I always wear my hair long and natural, but when I just feel like I am having a terrible hair day, I just tie my hair up in a pony tail, or wear a hat, which is probably the quickest way to style my hair when I just don't want to put any effort in it.
5. Just remember that it's OK to have a no-day sometimes. Everybody has them, and everybody goes through them, either alone or not, so don't worry about yourself feeling blue, we have all been there, just embrace the day, with its ups and downs (because yes, not every bad day is supposed to only have bad things going on) and remember that it will be over soon, and that you can make it, and at the end of the day you should be proud of yourself, because you made it through all of that. Tomorrow is a new day, full of new challenges and goals, give yourself new chances.
What do you usually do to motivate yourself when you are having one of those days? Let me know, I would love to know your thoughts!!
